Based on prices published on the Serbian market, thermally broken aluminium windows cost roughly 280 to 400 € per m². Windows made from cold profiles, without a thermal break, are cheaper, but they are not suitable for heated rooms. The final price depends on the system, glass, size, hardware and colour. So treat this range as a guide only; you get the exact figure in a quote after measuring.

Rough market prices for aluminium windows per m²
These are not our prices. They are approximate ranges that other companies and the media have published. We list them so you know what to expect before you ask for a quote.
| Type | Approximate price per m² | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Thermally broken ALU, “premium” systems | roughly 280–400 € | Aluport, public 2026 price list |
| ALU with double glazing, installed | roughly 150–300 €, better systems about 300 € | Biznis Kurir, approximate prices in Serbia for 2026 |
| Cold ALU profile, no thermal break | in one public price list, about 20–25% cheaper than thermally broken for the same size | PVC Projekt, public ALUMIL price list |
The ranges differ because companies price different systems, glass and services. Some include installation and removal of the old windows in the price, others don’t. So when you compare quotes, always check exactly what the price per square metre includes.
Example calculation
A two-sash 140×140 cm window has an opening of 1.96 m². At 280–400 € per m², the rough price is about 550 to 785 €. For comparison, one public price list gives 500 € for that window, excluding installation. That shows how much the final price depends on who makes it, which system they use and what is included.
For the same opening, our VEKA 70 PVC window costs 31,127 RSD (≈ 265 €) excluding installation, according to our price list. So aluminium is, as a rule, about twice as expensive as PVC. That is why it is chosen where it has a real advantage.
Thermal break or cold profile
Thermally broken aluminium has a polyamide strip that separates the outer and inner parts of the profile. It stops heat from conducting through, so the frame doesn’t “sweat” or chill the room. It is the only option for a flat, house or office that is heated. We make thermally broken systems only: ALUMIL S67 and Schüco AWS 75.SI+. Danito is a Schüco partner, and we fabricate Schüco aluminium systems in our own plant in Pančevo.
Cold aluminium profiles have no thermal break. They are used for interior partitions, enclosed unheated terraces, garages and utility rooms. They are cheaper, but in a heated space they let the cold through in winter and condensation collects on them. Whatever you saved at purchase is soon lost.
What affects the price of aluminium windows per m²
- Profile system. ALUMIL S67 and Schüco AWS 75.SI+ differ in depth, insulation and hardware, and so in price.
- Glass. Triple, laminated, toughened or acoustic glass raises the price, and large formats often need thicker, toughened glass.
- Size and number of fields. Small windows cost more per m², because the hardware and corner work cost the same whatever the size.
- Hardware and opening type. Sliding and lift-and-slide systems cost more than tilt-and-turn.
- Colour. Powder coating in a RAL colour is a separate process. Two different colours inside and out raise the price further.
- Statics. Large openings and glazed walls sometimes need a structural calculation and extra reinforcement.
- Installation. Check whether the price includes removing the old windows, installation and disposal.
How to compare two aluminium quotes
A price per m² on its own tells you little. Before you compare two quotes, check that both state:
- the name of the profile system and whether it has a thermal break;
- the type of glass, with its Ug value, and the Uw for the whole window;
- the hardware manufacturer and how each sash opens;
- the colour outside and inside;
- whether the price includes removal, installation, disposal of the old windows and finishing of the reveals.
If one quote is missing any of these, ask for it before you decide. A lower price often also means weaker glass or simpler hardware.
When aluminium is worth it
Aluminium doesn’t pay for itself through heating savings. There, a good PVC window performs just as well and costs less. Aluminium is worth it where PVC can’t do the job:
- sashes heavier than 100 kg and glazed walls up to 3 m high;
- slim profiles and maximum glass, when the frame should be barely visible;
- commercial and public buildings, façade infills and heavy foot traffic;
- buildings where no further replacement is planned, because aluminium doesn’t fade or change shape.
If you want the look of aluminium with the insulation of PVC, take a look at our Hybrid window. It has aluminium outside and inside, with a hidden PVC core. The two materials are compared in PVC vs aluminium windows.
Why there is no aluminium price list by size
We have a table for PVC because the sizes and solutions repeat. Aluminium is asked for precisely where there are no standard solutions: glazed walls, large fixed openings, unusual heights. So we quote for aluminium windows after a free measuring visit, in Pančevo, Belgrade and the surrounding area, with a drawing and a price for each position.
Common questions
How much do aluminium windows cost per m²?
Based on public prices on the Serbian market, thermally broken aluminium windows cost roughly 280 to 400 € per m². The final price depends on the system, glass, size, hardware and colour, so only a quote after measuring gives the exact figure.
How much cheaper are cold aluminium profiles?
In one public price list, cold profiles are about 20 to 25% cheaper than thermally broken ones for the same size. Cold profiles are not suitable for heated rooms, because they let the cold through and condensation collects on them.
Why is aluminium more expensive than PVC?
The aluminium profile, thermal break, powder coating and heavier hardware cost more than a PVC system. For the same opening, an aluminium window is, as a rule, about twice as expensive. In return it carries larger, heavier sashes, has slimmer profiles and needs no maintenance.
Does the price of aluminium windows include installation?
It depends on the company. Some prices per m² include installation and removal, others don’t. When comparing quotes, always check what is included.
How much does a 140×140 cm aluminium window cost?
At a rough range of 280 to 400 € per m², a two-sash 140×140 cm window costs roughly 550 to 785 €. You get the exact price in a quote, because it depends on the system, glass and colour.
For an exact price you need a measurement, not an estimate. Whether you choose ALUMIL or Schüco, as a Schüco partner we prepare a quote with a drawing for each opening, after measuring.
